BACKGROUND TO THE EXAMINATION IN PUBLIC

An Independent Panel has been appointed to conduct an Examination in Public (EIP) of the Belfast City Airport’s Planning Agreement.

The Department of the Environment decided that an EIP should be conducted as part of its review of the above Planning Agreement.  The decision followed a public consultation exercise during which representations were received from key interested parties including, residents groups, Belfast City Airport, airline operators, Councils and the general public.

An independent chairperson (and panel) has been appointed to hear further representations from interested parties on certain key issues, which the Panel will identify.
